Glacial troughs of the Arctic region.

An arctic view of the globe showing the large glacial troughs of the northern hemisphere. Glacial troughs are large depressions in the seafloor gouged out by the movement of glacial ice flows.Glacial troughs are found in the high latitudes, and are especially concentrated in the Arctic and Antarctic.

Glacial troughs have been mapped as part of the new Global Seafloor Geomorphic Map developed through a joint initiative between GRID-Arendal, Geoscience Australia and Conservation International.
